Flag Football 1st & 2nd Grade
Youth FootballFlag Football for 1st and 2nd graders is a program operated through the Limon Youth Football Association.
The Limon Recreation Department handles registration.
- Practice for Flag Football begins the 3rd week in August.
- Games are played on Saturday mornings at 8:00 a.m. and start the 1st Saturday after Labor Day.
- Teams in the league are Calhan and Peyton.
- Practices are held at the Community Building Park.

Tackle Football 3rd-4th & 5th-6th
Tackle football is for grades 3rd & 4th (Pee Wee) combined and 5th & 6th (Midget) combined.
The teams play under the Colorado Prairie League Football rules.
8-Man Football is played.
Practices start the 3rd week of August and are held at the Bob Smith baseball field 2-3 times a week.
Players will need to provide their own equipment which includes a white helmet NOCSAE approved, shoulder pads, girdle, football pants, mouth piece, athletic supporter, cup, and black socks.
Players may wear cleats or tennis shoes. Uniforms will be provided.
Games are played on Saturday mornings or Sunday afternoons beginning after Labor Day depending on team schedules and field availability.
Teams in the league include Elizabeth, Kiowa, Byers, Calhan, Strasburg and Limon.
