13-15 Babe Ruth Baseball
The Limon Recreation Department belongs to the 13-15 East Central Babe Ruth League.
The league consists of teams from

Babe Ruth Baseball was created for ballplayers ages 13-15 who wished to continue their baseball playing experience beyond the age of 12.
This is where players get their baseball cleats muddy for the first time on standard 90' diamonds under Official Baseball Rules used by Major League Baseball.
In this division, teams are eligible to enter tournament competition and move along the tournament trail, culminating in a World Series.
Practices are held at Bob Smith Baseball field on Friday evenings and games are held on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons during the months of May and June after the high school season is completed.
The tournament trail begins in July.
Girls Babe Ruth Softball - Ages 9-12
The Limon Recreation Department has participated in the Babe Ruth Girls softball program since 2000.
The East Central League is comprised of teams from

- Colby
- Limon
All-star teams have competed at State, Regionals and the World Series.
Girls ages 9-12 as of January 1 of the current year are taught the basic fundamentals of fast pitch softball.
Players learn how to play as a team, communicate with team mates, portray good sportsmanship and have fun.
Registration starts the end of March.
Practices begin the end of April.
League games begin mid-May and finish the end of June.
Games are held on Monday and Friday evenings.
Girls can then try out for All-stars and compete in the tournament trail throughout the month of July.
Eastern Plains Youth Traveling Basketball League 3rd-6th Grade
The Limon Recreation Department has participated in the Eastern Plains Youth Traveling Basketball league since 2000.

- Kiowa
- Byers
- Bennett
- Simla
- Strasburg
- Limon
Practices start the beginning of November.
Games are held on Saturday mornings during the months of December and January.
The league tournaments are usually held the first two weeks in February.
There is one team of girls and one team of boys per grade.
2nd graders are allowed to play up when numbers are low.
Registrations are due the 3rd week of October.

2nd-6th Grade Basketball Skills & Drills Camp
Basketball Skills - DribblingRecreational basketball for youth grades 2nd-6th grade is held on Friday mornings in January and February.
High School basketball players help instruct the younger players so they can improve on their basketball fundamentals.
Recreational basketball not only helps younger players advance their skill level is also provides an opportunity for high school players to get experience working with younger children and reinforce skills they use on the court.
